Several Hooters Girls made a special delivery of books and meals to Holtz Children’s Hospital on February 24th. As part of South Florida Hooters Hootie’s Lending Library initiative the restaurant partners with local organizations to provide books. Hooters Girls from Weston Gracie Williams and Pembroke Pines Selena Sanchez and Aaliyah Handal delivered additional books to restock the rolling library for the children who are currently in the hospital. The group also delivered 30 meals prepared by the Pembroke Pines Hooters location consisting of boneless wings, salad and desserts with notes of thanks to show their appreciation for the hospital staff.
South Florida Hooters restaurants is partnering with both Holtz Children’s Hospital and Jackson North Medical Center with custom Hooters library carts for Hootie’s Lending Library” in the Pediatric ER. Each rolling library cart is filled with books for children of all ages.
“Thank you to Hooties for your generous donation, our staff really enjoyed the food and we know the books will help normalize the hospital environment for our patients during their stay in the pediatric ED!” said Vanessa Plunkett, ED Nurse Manager & Angie Nunez, Certified Child Life Specialist Holtz Children’s Hospital.
South Florida Hooters restaurants have taken part in local hospital visits for many years by providing food, arts and crafts and most recently books through the Hootie’s Lending Library. “We created the rolling library program to provide books for the kids to read when they are at the hospital. It is a priority that we give back and make an impact. Our employees enjoy the opportunity to help the hospitals in our community year round,” said South Florida Hooters Director of Marketing Kristi Quarles.
