The Give a Hoot Weekend in Iowa featured the 9th Annual Lags Memorial Golf Tournament and LAGSRIDE bicycle ride. It was a weekend of Hooters-style fun and support for a great cause in memory of the late Dave “Lags” Lageschulte, Hooters franchise owner, Waverly native, and long-time supporter of Self-Help International. A total of 9 Hooters Calendar Girls from South Florida and Colorado, including Miss Hooters International Sable Robbert, traveled to Waverly, Iowa to host the events in memory of Lageschulte.
Self-Help International is a nonprofit organization based in Waverly with a mission to alleviate hunger by helping people help themselves. The funds raised through the Give a Hoot weekend enables them serve more rural families in Ghana and Nicaragua with their renowned programs in agricultural, health and micro-credit development.
