Unable to find a sponsor, this worthy team of physically and mentally challenged young adults reached out to the South Florida Hooters franchise, LTP, for assistance. It was our honor to provide uniforms and participate in the Sunrise Rockies games.
Each week, 4-6 Hooters Girls acted as buddies, guiding the players around the bases. The head coach, a 26-year volunteer for this team, told us that this was the first season that every player showed up to every game, encouraged by the Hooters Girls. One of the parents presented photos of the players and Hooters Girls to each player at the end-of-the-year picnic.
