Marathon

For the 10th year, the Hooters Half Marathon will be run, starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

It’s anticipated that about 1,200 runners will either compete in the event individually or in two-person relay teams. It is a run that often brings some of the better runners from the Midwest who want to get out of the cold as well as those who use the event as a way to train for the Boston Marathon in April.

Presented by Michelob Ultra, the Hooters Half Marathon has raised more than $300,000 for causes, particularly to those related to cancer. Proceeds from the race will benefit The Moffitt Cancer Center, The Golisano Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund and GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Centers.
